Anna Anna is concerned for Edwin's health. She would be glad to care for him. They can get through anything together. Mrs, Ward is set up dates that you can come. This is the first time she is on a typewriter. Everyone likes Virgil and new people come everyday. Mrs Peterson and Mrs. Claire got their books and paid for them.

California poet. Raised near Vacaville, became a schoolteacher in Coloma and later in Oakland. Became famous overnight with publication of "The Man with a Hoe," his protest against brutalization of labor, in "San Francisco Examiner" (January 15, 1899). Following this success Markham moved to New York where he scored another triumph with "Lincoln and Other Poems" (1901).
